Search Continues for Missing Spirit Lake Woman

FORT TOTTEN, N.D. — The Spirit Lake Tribe is urgently continuing search efforts for Danica “Tynee” White, a 20-year-old tribal member who was last heard from on Saturday, Nov. 1 at approximately 6 a.m. Her last known location was established through a 911 call in which she indicated she needed assistance, prompting an immediate response from local authorities. According to the press release issued by the Tribe, Danica (pronounced da-NEE-kuh) was last seen near BIA 25, wearing black pants, a black sweater, and gray/white shoes.

SNAP Benefits Pause Amid Plans for Upcoming Food Drives

As of this printing, with the government shutdown continuing with no end in sight, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has been paused as of Saturday, Nov. 1, which provided food assistance to approximately 60,000 residents in North Dakota. With the holidays drawing closer, local and state organizations move to support food assistance programs to provide for those in need.

Annual LRSC Key Event Focused on ‘The Great Outdoors’

Lake Region State College’s annual Key Event silent and live auction took place on Friday, Oct. 24, at 5:30 p.m. on campus in the Hofstad Ag Center. This year’s theme focused on “The Great Outdoors.”

Fall Film Festival Planned for Devils Lake

This fall, the Devils Lake movie theater Encore 301, located at 125 4th Street, will present a Fall Film Festival featuring the films of Daniel Bielinski. According to his website he is well known for Canticle Productions, a film production company dedicated to the telling of powerful stories of sacrifice, faith and perseverance that honor the land, history and people of North Dakota. It was founded by Bielinski, who has produced five feature films in North Dakota. He serves as Chair of Dramatic Arts at the University of Mary in Bismarck, where he lives with his wife and six children. He has an MFA in Theater Arts from Columbia University.

Hennen Faces More Charges at Latest Hearing, Including Felony Sexual Assault

The latest hearing for ex-Devils Lake Police Officer Rey Hennen held via Zoom at Courtroom 1 in the Ramsey County Courthouse on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. revealed seven new charges for the defendant, including one for felony sexual assault.
