One of the most touching events taking place during the Devils Run weekend is the North Dakota Army National Guard 14K Fallen Soldiers Run/Walk. It takes place Saturday morning, June 1 leaving from the Burdick Arena parking lot in Devils Lake at 7:30 a.m. Black silhouette cut outs of the 14 ND Army National Guard who have lost their lives in the war on terror since 2003 line the course.

The Course

The course for this event begins at Burdick Arena on the DLHS campus with registration, turns south on College Drive to Roosevelt Park, crossing U.S. Highway 2 at John Deere, and using the bike path to Lakewood. Along the way are support personnel with water available. Proceed through Lakewood to the back gate of Camp Grafton, follow the signs and ends at Camp Grafton Edwards House where refreshments are provided and transportation back to Burdick Arena is also provided.

Each K

At each K participants will mark a silhouette bearing the photo of the ND soldiers who gave their lives. “All gave some. Some gave all.”

Registration is $25 per person with $15 for youth, 12 and under. The proceeds benefit the ND National Guard Foundation that provides asssistnce to National Guard Soldiers, families and survivors.
