Ramsey County 4-H Achievement Days Set for June 26–28 at Fairgrounds
Devils Lake, ND – Get ready for three days of fun, learning, and community celebration as Ramsey County 4-H Achievement Days is held June 26–28 at the new and improved Ramsey County Fairgrounds, located at 7823 Hwy 19, Devils Lake, ND 58301.
Achievement Days give local 4-H youth the chance to showcase a year’s worth of hard work through projects ranging from livestock and horses to sewing, woodworking, and photography. The event is free and open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and support local youth.
“We’re really looking forward to another great year of celebrating our 4-H members and all they’ve accomplished,” said Ramsey County Extension Agent, Sara Laite.
Event Highlights:
Thursday, June 26
· 9:00 a.m. – Static Exhibit Judging inside the 4-H Hall and the new Western State Bank Event Center
· 2:00 p.m. – Exhibits open for public viewing
· 3:30 p.m. – Parade of Champions
· 6:00 p.m. – Horse Show begins
· All Day – Craft tables and Ramsey Riders 4-H Club Concession Stand available for visitors
Friday, June 27
· 8:00 a.m. – Continued Horse Show Classes
· Public horse games (stick horse barrel racing, roping)
· Concessions by Clover Critters 4-H Club
· 3:00–5:00 p.m. – Lemonade Stand by 4-H member Hayden Gehrtz, raising funds for NICU care
· 5:00 p.m. – Grand Opening Steak Fry hosted by Ramsey County Fair Board
· 7:30 p.m. – Free Ryan Keplin Band Concert hosted by Ramsey County Fair Board
Saturday, June 28
· 10:00 a.m. – Lake Region Livestock Expo (poultry, rabbits, pet show)
· 11:30 a.m. – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Western State Bank Event Center
· Flag Dedication Ceremony by the Ramsey Riders Drill Team
· Family Picnic and Games hosted by the Ramsey County Fair Board
· 1:30 p.m. – Continuation of Lake Region Livestock Expo (goats, sheep, swine, beef)
· 4:00 p.m. (approx.) – Celebrity Round Robin
Local leaders including Ramsey County Commission Chairman Lee Gessner, Devils Lake Mayor Jim Moe, and others will pair with 4-H youth and try their hand at showing livestock.
Enjoy Taco in a Bag from the Junior 4-H Achievement Day Committee during the show!
· All Day – Basket Fundraiser for the Sailors, a Ramsey County 4-H family who recently lost their barn and several 4-H animals in a fire.
“This is such a special event because it brings together our youth, families, and the greater community,” said Trisha Berg, Ramsey County 4-H Program Assistant. “We’re especially excited to introduce the Celebrity Round Robin this year — it’s a fun way to engage community leaders and highlight the skills our 4-H’ers are learning.”
