The Devils Lake Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual Walleye Fishing Tourney on Friday, June 20, the first day of summer for 2025.

The results are in and the team of Aaron Johnson and Michele Johnson took the top prize with five fish weighing a total of 30.26 lbs., one of them weighed 7.11 lbs.

Second place went to the team of Brandt Ferguson and Keith Omlie who reeled in 28.92 lbs., five walleyes. Their “Big Fish” weighed 7.87 lbs.

Third place, Tyler Elshaug and Tanner Paine got 5 walleyes for 27.61 lbs.

Fourth place, Lucas Tangen and Mark Tangen caught 5 walleyes, 25.97 lbs.

Fifth place, Ronnie Deutz and Nathan Denning, caught 5, 25.89 lbs.

Sixth place, Garret Schemionek and Jake Logghe, caught 25.15 lbs.

Seventh place, Elizabeth MacDonald and Kyle Olson, caught 24.47 lbs.

Eighth place, Loren DesJardins and Brayden Selzer, 24.13 lbs.

Ninth place, Adam Randash and Kelly Mayer, 23.44 lbs.

Tenth place, Alex Huber and Blayke Gasal, 23.02 lbs.

It looks like team #61, Jeff Trana and Rick Darling caught the biggest walleye at 8.33 lbs. It was the only fish the team weighed in.

According to the information provided to the Journal by the Chamber, 103 teams in total were registered for the tournament, however, 76 of those teams caught fish.
