Daniel L. Stave, 72, of Leeds, ND, passed away Jan. 12, 2026, in rural Leeds after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Leeds Public School Gymnasium. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the school. Sharon (Sheri) F. Schneider, 54, of Minnewaukan, ND passed away at her daughter’s home in Grand Forks, ND on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, under the care of hospice. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Ft. Totten, ND, with Pastor Brandon Wegener officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Minnewaukan. Marlene Joyce Krack, age 84 of rural Devils Lake, ND, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2026, at the Eventide Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake, ND. A funeral service will be held on Jan. 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND. Visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Kevin L. Harwood, 61, of Cando, ND, passed away on Jan. 09, 2026, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Feb. 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Oberon in the spring.

Gail Carlson, age 74, of Devils Lake, ND, formerly of Sheyenne, ND, died Jan. 10, 2026, at her home in Devils Lake.

Darlene Ann Norman, 86, Esmond, ND, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 6. 2026, at The Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND. Funeral Services were held Jan. 14, 2026, at the Nelson Funeral Home in Maddock. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Ivy Cemetery in Rural Prescott, WA.

Carlene Walking Eagle-Peltier, age 53, of Grand Forks, ND, died Jan. 8, 2026, at her home in Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Jan. 15, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. all at St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, ND. Wayne P. Haugland, of Hampden, ND, passed away on Jan. 10, 2026, in Apache Junction, Arizona. Arrangements are pending. Wayne is in the care of the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND.

Roudie Wayne IronHawk Sr. of Fort Totten, ND, began his final journey to the Spirit World on Jan. 11, 2026, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND with his brother and sisters by his side. Wake for Roudie was on Jan. 16 at the Tekakwitha Center, St. Michael with a time of prayer and remembrance. Funeral Services were held Saturday, Jan. 17, also at the Tekakwitha Center with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery at a later date.

Richard Kunkel, Dr. of Education, of Grand Forks, formerly of Devils Lake, ND, passed away on Jan. 13, 2026, at Woodside Village in Grand Forks, at the age of 91. Services are pending for Jan. 22, 2026, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Dr. Kunkel is in the care of the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.
