Merlin C. Pfeifer, 68, a local businessman for many years, passed away on Sunday evening, Feb. 1, 2026, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, ND.

Melbourne “Mel” A. Brown, 79 of Colorado passed away on Jan. 19, 2026, at the Aurora Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.

Lillie Owlboy of rural St. Michael, ND ,began her journey to the Spirit World on Jan. 29, 2026, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. She was 89 years old. Arrangements are pending with Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND.

Brian Sailor, age 67, passed away January 27, 2026 in Devils Lake, ND

Merlyn Norman Knutson III, 39, passed away on Jan. 24, 2026, at Trinity Medical Center, Minot, ND, with loving family at his side. The Wake was held at St. Michael’s Wellness Center on Feb. 1 beginning with a time of Prayer and Remembrance. Funeral Services were on Feb. 2 also at St. Michael’s Wellness Center. Merlyn was laid to rest in the Devils Lake Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

KassaLee Jo Redroad, 21 of Tokio, ND, began her journey to the Spirit World on Jan. 18, 2026, at Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck, ND, Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Jan. 29, 2026 ,from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m with a Prayer Service and Time of Sharing at 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life for Kassa will be on Jan. 30 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Gilbertson Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Thiele officiating.

Anna Marie Two Hearts made her journey to the Spirit World on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at Essentia Medical Center in Fargo ND.

Mark A. Schwab, a lifelong resident of Devils Lake, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, surrounded by his loving family.

Daniel L. Stave, 72, of Leeds, ND, passed away Jan. 12, 2026, in rural Leeds after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Leeds Public School Gymnasium. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the school. Burial will be held at the Leeds Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Leeds Lutheran Cemetery Fund: P.O.
