Sand is not just sand! Arena sand is a very technically blended mixture of sand and a little clay, and if needed, a little water. The arena was blended very well before this leveling machine fine tunes the flat elevation and depth of the ground within a quarter of an inch.

Rodeo livestock are very expensive and precious to their owners. Barrel racers in particular need perfectly manicured ground not to be too deep or slippery. (All photos courtesy Connie Hanson)
