The Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce announces it has selected Suzie Kenner as the Devils Lake Chamber’s next Executive Director. Suzie is currently the Devils Lake Tourism Director, a position she has held for over 13 years. In this role, Kenner will lead the Chamber and Tourism areas. She will transition into the shared directorship throughout April, officially taking the reins of both areas May 1.
“The Devils Lake Chamber and Tourism departments have worked together throughout the decades. Suzie has strong knowledge of both areas and a shared director approach will be fluid as the organization adapts to the new structure,” said Erin Wood, President of the Board of Directors.
With a shared director for both Chamber and Tourism, a marketing coordinator position will be added to round out the new Chamber/Tourism team.
“Combining both Executive Director roles will open the door to develop a different structure within the Chamber and give us the ability to pull some marketing efforts in-house as well as expand on the Chamber of Commerce marketing. I have loved my time here at the Chamber and look forward to this new adventure, especially with the great team we have in place. As the former director, Paula Vistad has grown our membership numbers, our retention rate, events and has provided a stable environment that our businesses and employees can be proud of. She has been a true role model and mentor and she will be deeply missed. We wish her much happiness in her retirement and truly a big “thank you” for her years of service to our community,” Kenner said.
