A twin brother duo from Devils Lake is thriving at the college level in track and field and cross country.

Brady and Tyler Goss, graduates of Devils Lake High School, have found particular success in the 3000-meter steeplechase this spring.

Brady is a junior at North Dakota State. He spent his first two years of college at Concordia Moorhead. With an 8:46.27 time in the steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 16, Brady set an NDSU school record in the event. He placed fourth out of 91 contestants.

The previous Bison record was held by Jake Januszewski, set in 2007.

The record-breaking mark was more than a three-second improvement from Brady’s previous time, 13 days earlier. And it was 0.2 seconds better than his personal best that he set in 2025 at Concordia.

Brady also shined in the mile run during the indoor season. He picked up a second- and third-place finish, with a personal best of 4:13.25 at the Bison Open.

In the 2025 outdoor season, Brady made it to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships in the steeplechase and 1500-meter run. He placed first in the 1500, setting a personal best of 3:49.78.

Tyler, meanwhile, is a junior at Concordia Moorhead. He has three first-place finishes in the 3000-meter steeplechase this spring: April 13 at the NDSU Spring Classic, May 2 at the Cobber Open and May 9 at the MIAC championships.

At the MIAC championships, he set a season best of 9:13.01 in the steeplechase. His personal best — set last year at the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier — is 9:10.24.

This was the second straight year that a Goss brother has won a conference championship in the steeplechase, as Brady did so a year earlier.

Tyler made it to the MIAC championships last year in both the steeplechase and 10,000-meter run.

Tyler also owns Concordia’s seventh-best 5k indoor time in school history, with a 5:13.79. His 8:41.98 3k time also ranks seventh all-time, according to school records. He set the seventh- and ninth-best marks in these events, respectively, at the Wartburg Qualifier in March 2025.

In cross country, the Goss brothers have nearly identical bests. Brady’s is 25:53.4, and Tyler’s is 25:56.4.

They were teammates in both sports at Moorhead. Brady is now on his own at the Division I level, with Tyler at Division III, but both are continuing to find success as they represent Devils Lake.
