So let us look at the United States of America if most or all domestic discretionary spending is eliminated. Even though it is highly unlikely that all domestic discretionary spending will be eliminated, there will be a concerted effort to eliminate a good deal of this spending primarily to pay for a huge tax cut that will greatly benefit corporations and the most affluent members of our society.

Yes, there is federal spending that many Republicans would like to have eliminated but that amount also does not produce the savings they need to enact the tax cut. The current president keeps talking up tariffs to produce revenue for his tax cut. Those who spend all their income on their daily living needs will pay most of the tariff generated revenue for the federal coffers because the very wealthy spend much less of their income on their daily living needs. Everyone will be told repeatedly that what is being proposed is a middle-class tax cut, but just like the last Trump tax cut, 80+% of the cuts in taxes went to corporations and the very wealthy. Don’t be fooled by the deception and repetitive lying about the tax cuts. Most people will not benefit from the combination spending cuts and minor tax cuts.

How well will the elderly, disabled individuals, poor children and for that matter nursing homes fair if Medicaid is severely cut or eliminated? This is one of the big-ticket sources of federal spending that Elon Musk, the co-president, is eyeing to produce billions in savings. Should Elon be successful with eliminating Medicaid, nursing homes will be devastated and many elderly nursing home residents will have to go out the door for some other type of living arrangement. Many children will just die because they won’t have health care coverage to address very serious illnesses. Got to remember if you have a very ill child with many private healthcare providers you will reach coverage maximums and getting Medicaid coverage is essential to continue lifesaving care. The healthcare for a few million disabled people will end and what happens to them is anyone’s guess. Elon doesn’t care about the outcome of the cuts, just the savings.

Elon would like to cut, probably can’t eliminate, Social Security or Medicare, but the current president knows there would be a huge political price to pay for such action and likely won’t do much with current Social Security and Medicare recipients. That doesn’t mean they can’t mess with future recipients, particularly those under the age of 60. The minimum retirement age could be raised to at least 70, although raising full retirement to 75 and allowing early retirement to start at 70 is possible. Please note the most affluent in our society could care less about Social Security and Medicare and now that we live with government by, for and of the very wealthy, such retirement programs need to be reined in so they can get massive tax cuts.

The majority of what is likely to be cut will make the country much less safe (CIA and FBI gutting); less educated (Head Start cuts and eliminating the department of Education); much less healthy (gutting the Center for Disease Control, gutting the National Institute of Health); and generally turning the U.S. into a third world country ruled by dictator and the richest man in the world in concert with other oligarchs. Most people are clueless about how federal funding impacts their communities. Most of the states that voted for the current president are what are consider taker states, meaning they receive more federal funds than they pay in federal taxes. It could be interesting to see how those taker states react to any sizeable cuts in federal funding, it is very doubtful that those states would raise local and state taxes to protect their more vulnerable citizens.

The ultimate outcomes from this federal budget cutting will be greater homelessness, increase in poverty, increase in unemployment, higher interest rates, and an economic downturn of unknown size. It should be noted that all this cutting will not have anything to do with merit or what is in the best interests of the country, it is to offset the costs of a massive tax cut that will almost exclusively benefit corporations and the very wealthy, particularly the billionaire class. It has been speculated that gutting the CIA and FBI is setting up a terrorist event to occur in the U.S. that would allow the president to declare Marshall law or some other type of emergency declaration where he can act without the nuisance of the judicial branch questioning his actions. There is another scenario that involves trying to wreck the American economy so that the billionaires could buy as much as possible, at lower prices, to gain a stranglehold on country and accumulate an ever-increasing amount of wealth. Wishing us all luck living in a dystopian country ruled by the most affluent in society.
