Dear Devils Lake and the Lake Region,
I find myself tearful in writing this, as I am so utterly in love with the Lake Region Public Library, its staff, and this community. For personal family reasons, I find myself needing to relocate to the Fargo-Moorhead area, and therefore will be resigning my position as Library Director of the Lake Region Public Library effective July 21, 2025.
At the end of 2021, the Director position was advertised and I, despite having absolutely no background in libraries, decided to throw my name in the ring, expecting nothing and instead receiving a life-altering opportunity to learn, grow and give back to my community. I began as Director of Outreach and Innovation in February of 2022, and took over as full Library Director exactly one year later. These three-and-a-half years have been the busiest, hardest, most fulfilling of my life, and I wouldn’t change a moment.
I want to take a bit of time to sincerely thank all of the incredible people I’ve met and gotten to know over my five years in Devils Lake. This is a special town, different from anywhere I’ve lived, and I will never forget my time here. Thank you all for the chance to try new things, to fail spectacularly, to succeed magnificently, and everything in between.
All this being said, the Lake Region Public Library is in search of a new Director. If you or someone you know is interested, please find more information in the coming days at devilslakendlibrary.com.
Don’t be a stranger. Find me on social media, keep in touch via email, and be sure to keep using the Lake Region Public Library; the amazing initiatives will only continue.
