Fatima “Fran” Frances Hager, 64, passed away on Nov. 27, 2025, at her home.
Fran was born on May 20, 1961, in Curitiba, Brazil, to Youssef and Arabie Tassi. Later she moved to Canada where she met Alex Hager. On Sep. 1, 1976, they were married and settled on the family farm near Michigan, ND. Together they raised their three children, Karen, Chad, and Michael.
Fran enjoyed her job as a manager at Farmers Union. She was a well loved pillar in the community with patrons stopping frequently to visit with her. She loved gardening and listening to music. She was known for her amazing cooking skills. Fran was a gracious hostess, always hosting family gatherings and holidays. She welcomed family and friends to the farm anytime. She had an infectious laugh and was the center of many fun family memories. Her family was her pride and joy and she saw them as often as possible.
Fran is survived by her husband, Alex; children, Karen Jorstad and Chad Hager; daughter-in-law, Brooke (Mike) Hager; granddaughters, Alexis Jorstad, Emily Jorstad, and Anika Hager; great granddaughters, Layla and Kinlee Drobot; sisters, Samira and Amine; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Youssef and Arabie Tassi; brother, Mohamed Tassi; and son, Mike Hager.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, ND, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Burial will be held at the Michigan Cemetery with fellowship at Michigan Civic Center to follow.
