Robert “Bob” Charles West, 82 years young, of Clarksville, OH, passed peacefully Friday, Sep. 26, 2025, at Hospice of Ohio, Dayton, with loving family by his side. Bob was born in Long Beach, CA, May 7, 1943 to Mildred “Millie” (Shaver) Thibedeau and lovingly raised by Millie and Howard Thibedeau. He graduated from Devils Lake Central High School in 1961. He enjoyed working on cars and playing hockey growing up, serving as co-captain on the DLHS varsity hockey team. After graduation, Bob moved to California and held various jobs before finding his passion working on cash registers.
Bob moved to Grand Forks where his son Richie was born and there he enjoyed stock car races and hockey. He worked for NCR throughout the northern United States, eventually climbing the ladder becoming a computer programmer and instructor before he left NCR as a Computer Consultant Programming Engineer. Bob then worked at PNC and National City Mortgage as a consultant before retiring in 2013 at the age of 70. He enjoyed retirement with his loving wife, Loma, traveling to NASCAR races and camping. Bob loved spending time with family and seeing his grandkids. Over his life of 82 years, he loved his family dearly and made many friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Loma Carol (Nelson) West; his children, Richard “Richie” Allen West, Peggy (Hoskins) Moler and Wayne Hoskins; grandchildren, Jeremey Gloyd, Christian (Kristy) Moler, Tyler Moler, Hunter Hoskins and Michael Hilterbrandt; great-grandchildren, Mia Skinner, Tristan Skinner, Billy Skinner, Kaleb Gloyd, Griffin Moler, Ellie Moler, Hoyt Hilterbrandt and Silas Hilterbrandt; siblings, Juel (Dana) Thibedeau and Patti Thibedeau (Rick) Kneiser. He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred “Millie” (Shaver) Thibedeau and Howard Alvin Thibedeau.
