Mark was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He had a heart of gold and always put the needs of others before his own. His friends were like family to him, and he cherished his actual family more than anything in life. Whether he was dealing cards at the blackjack table, dancing the night away, or belting out his favorite tunes on karaoke night, Mark always had a smile on his face and a joke to share. He loved to invite people into his home for a meal, and if you couldn’t make it, he would make sure to send you a snapshot of the deliciousness you were missing out on!

Mark is survived by his brother, Duane (Rhea) Restemayer of Edinberg, ND; brother, Robert Restemayer of Hoople, ND; brother, Stan Restemayer of Hoople, ND; twin sister Carrie (Barry) Atherton of Devils Lake, ND; Joe Restemayer of Maxwell, TX; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; special friend, Brandon Paul of Devils Lake, ND; and his many Sundrop Peeps who became family. He was preceded in death by his father, Sterling; mother, Mae; and brother, Sterling (Bear).

Mark attended Cavalier High School and was later a jack of all trades. He had a knack for mastering various skills and always approached his work with dedication and passion.

Mark was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Devils Lake, where he found solace and community. He cherished the time he spent there, but always respected and valued the beliefs of others.

In his free time, Mark enjoyed karaoke, dealing blackjack, cooking, playing slots, and spending quality time with his friends. He had a special bond with his dogs, who brought him endless joy and companionship.

There was a gathering of family and friends on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake. A memorial service was held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church in Devils Lake, with services conducted by Pastor Dayne Zachrison.
