John P. Pederson (11/8/1951- 3/2/2026)
John Philip Pederson, 74, of Chanhassen, MN, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, surrounded by his wife and children.
John was born in Moorhead, MN on 11/8/1951. He grew up in Devil’s Lake, ND, and attended St. Mary’s academy (class of 1969), and later graduated with a BA from NDSU. After graduation he spent time in North Dakota, Arizona and has lived in Minnesota for nearly 40 years.
He spent his professional career as an Enrolled Agent Tax Specialist in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose (Kerber) Pederson, children Zach (Lyudmila) Pederson, Hilary Pederson, Jonas (Sam) Heyl, and grandchildren Olen, Willa, Henry Pederson, and Fiona, Jem, Indie Heyl. Predeceased by parents Earl Pederson and Dorothy (Saumur) Pederson.
John was a caring and free spirit who loved photography, design, and all things creative. Hobbies included reading, sailing, flying airplanes, driving, and the outdoors. He made lasting, impactful relationships with those in his life and cherished his family, particularly proud of his grandchildren, who he loved to spoil. John is loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Interment and prayers to be held at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Chanhassen, 381 W. 78th St., at 11:00 a.m., for those who wish to attend.
Celebration of Life open house will be held at The American Legion in Chanhassen, 290 Lake Dr. E, on Wednesday, May 27 from Noon to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Hubert’s Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or St Jude (www.stjude.org).
