Devils Lake, ND – Western State Bank has awarded $500 Western Achievement Scholarships to five area students.
This year’s recipients included the following Lake Region students: Simon Beach, who plans to attend Lake Region State College; Haylee Carlson, who is currently attending Mayville State University; Jace Cofer, who plans to attend the University of Sioux Falls; Hallie Fritel, who plans to attend Concordia College and Malcolm Stubbe, who plans to attend North Dakota State University.
“We’re committed to rewarding young people who go above and beyond,” said Brett Johnston, Western State Bank president. “That’s why we offer the Western Achievement Scholarship. We’re proud to support these exceptional students as they continue their academic pursuits.”
Western Achievement Scholarships are awarded annually to area students who plan to continue their education at post-secondary institutions. Scholarships are granted to full-time students based on their academic achievements, community efforts and commitment to quality education.
Eligible students must graduate from high school by June 15, be admitted to an accredited post-secondary institution as a full-time student, be registered and enrolled for fall 2023 semester and be a Western State Bank customer who is a full-time college student or high school senior.
