The Honor Recognition Day Program held April 29, 2026 at the Lake Region State College is sponsored by the Devils Lake Kiwanis and Rotary clubs and has been for the past 33 years.
Each honor student was treated to a nice luncheon and received a gift from the sponsoring clubs to recognize their achievements.
Principal Travis Mertens brought two honor students from Four Winds High School; Valedictorian Joliese Hunt and Salutatorian Jonte Delorme.
Dr. Kelly Peters, Superintendent at Lakota, N.D. High School, presented Hannah Halvorson, Valedictorian, and Etha Matejcek, Salutatorian.
Leeds High School Principal (and Althletic Director) Robyn Eberle introduced Isabella Engstrom, Valedictorian and Olivia Follman, Salutatorian.
Minnewaukan High School Principal Jordan Lunde presented Asa Morgan, Valedictorian, and Carter Ironheart, Salutatorian.
Starkweather High School Principal Sarah Beck-Connot introduced Sydney Wolf, Valedictorian, and Anna Griedl, Salutatorian.
Warwick High School Superintendent and Principal Angela Brandt presented Robert Richotte, Valedictorian.
Eight students at Devils Lake High School recognized as Honor Students; Madilyn Dion, Betty Fang, Anna Kraft, Addison Lange, Aubrie Lebrun, Elizabeth Orness, Jordan Vannett and Casandra Wentz. These students were introduced by Ryan Hanson, DLHS Principal. He explained that they select students of highest honors and do not single out a Valedictorian or Salutatorian. Hanson and the students from DLHS were pictured in the May 5 Devils Lake Journal on the front page.
