DLPS 28th Annual Staff Recognition Program held May 13

Chuck Erickson led off the comments from the new inductees to the Educator Hall of Fame as if he were the public address announcer for Devils Lake sports, which he was for more than two decades. He stated that he was most proud of the physical fitness program and adaptive physical education program he had begun at DLPS and his work with Special Olympics on local, state and national levels.

Chuck Erickson led off the comments from the new inductees to the Educator Hall of Fame as if he were the public address announcer for Devils Lake sports, which he was for more than two decades. He stated that he was most proud of the physical fitness program and adaptive physical education program he had begun at DLPS and his work with Special Olympics on local, state and national levels.

Dennis Flynn was inducted into the Educator Hall of Fame posthumously with his wife, Bette, accepting his plaque and thanking those responsible for this honor. The program notes from his induction stated, “He was the kind of teacher and coach that believed that every child mattered. He would go above and beyond for students and athletes, encouraging them to be the best that they could possibly be.” Flynn was in his 18th year at Devils Lake when he unexpectedly passed away March 20, 2007.

Dennis Flynn was inducted into the Educator Hall of Fame posthumously with his wife, Bette, accepting his plaque and thanking those responsible for this honor. Scott Privratsky was indicted into the DLPS Educator Hall of Fame at Wednesday’s recognition program. He thanked his former mentors and friends from the Devils Lake school system but first thanked his wife and family for their love and support through the years. Privratsky’s career began in Binford, N.D., in 1983. By 1988 he was hired to teach and coach for Devils Lake schools, was Activities Director for two years, business manager for 14 years and ended his career in 2020 when he retired after eight years as Superintendent.

The Devils Lake Public Schools 28th annual Staff Recognition Program was held Wednesday, May 13 in the Devils Lake Sports Center gymnasium.

Luncheon was served by Jennifer Steinhaus LACTC Culinary Arts Instructor and her students.

Music was provided by Central Middle School Strings and Director Jeremiah Johnson.

Everyone was welcomed by Superintendent Ned Clooten who began with the Years of Service Awards. He was assisted by Cory Meyer, School Board President.

As their names were read, each came forward to receive a certificate recognizing their years of dedicated service.

Employees with Five Years Dedicated Service included McKenzie Blazer, Amanda Cory, Pam Leibfried and Jessica Tuhy from Sweetwater; Sabrina Geiger, Kevin Rushton, Jennifer Steinhaus from LACTC; Patty Kavli, Eric Kuntz, Jodi Lagasse, Susan Lovgrenand Dan Tuhy from CMS; Melissa Kremer, Ashley Leibfried and Taylor Shipley from Minnie H;

Mara LaMotte and Elisha McLaurin from Prairie View plus Kirk Lewis, Eric Nygaard, and Jeanne Reardon from DLHS.
