Feb. 13 & 16: There will be NO SCHOOL for the Devils Lake Public Schools (K-12) on Friday, Feb. 13 and Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, due to President’s Day.
Feb. 14 & 15: The Devils Lake Gun Show and Sale. This is held at Devils Lake Memorial Building and hosted by Lake Region Shooting Sports Assoc. All federal and local firearm laws and ordinances must be obeyed. Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Admission General: $5.00, Children under 12: Free.
Feb. 19: Meet the Candidate, Trygve Hammer is running to represent North Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives. Come to the Pekin Center at 5:30 p.m. A light supper will be served and discussion will follow. All are welcome.
Feb. 20: Need help with your application for the Primary Residence tax reduction or Homestead Tax Credit? Rob Johnson from the Devils Lake City Assessor’s Office will be at the Lake Region Public Library Friday, Feb. 20 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to help with your applications. If your income is below $40K, bring proof of all income and all medical expenses you have had this past year, including health insurance premiums, etc. Even if your income is above $40K you could be eligible for a 50% reduction in property taxes.
Feb. 21: ShiverFest 2026 is Feb. 21! Lots of indoor and outdoor activities will take place on this day throughout the community. There is a Quilt show at Lake Region Art Center in Devils Lake at the corner of 4th and 4th. Look for Shiver Circuit (not sure what that is) and Snowga (like Yoga only in the snow) Winter Wonderland Vendor Show – now hosted at The Shores, s’mores and fire pits courtesy Proz, girls hockey steak fry, etc. There will also be the Kids’ Ice Fishing tournament, skating and fireworks at the end of the day. Look for many other events that may happen for ShiverFest 2026!
Feb. 21: Snowshoeing at White Horse Hill! Only two opportunities this year due to staffing shortages: Jan. 17 and Feb. 21. Come to the Visitor Center to check out snowshoes between 12 p.m. (Noon) and 4 p.m. There is no charge for snowshoeing. The store in the Visitors Center will be open between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. for your shopping convenience, as well.
Feb. 22: Fishing Has No Boundaries fundraising Breakfast Sunday at the KC Hall starts at 8 a.m. and goes to 2 p.m. $8 per person, ages 5 and under free!
March 1: All parents of children ages 3, 4, and 5 who live in the Devils Lake School district are encouraged to participate in the Preschool opportunity provided by the Devils Lake Public Schools. The screening will be conducted March 20 at Minnie H Kindergarten Center in Devils Lake. Children who will be 3 years old by March 1, 2026 and all four and five year olds are eligible for this service. Contact Kim Frogfoss at 662-7670 by March 6, 2026, to make an appointment. Children will be screened in the areas of Fine and Gross Motor skills, Basic Concepts, Speech and Language and Health. The screening takes approximately one hour. Appointments are required.
