Second Annual Marketplace for Kids Education Day at Fort Totten
FORT TOTTEN, ND – On Friday, Nov. 7, hundreds of students ranging from fourth to eighth grade from schools in Ramsey and neighboring Benson counties arrived with volunteers bright and early at Cankdeska Cikana Community College (CCCC) to take part in the Marketplace for Kids Education Day.

North Dakota’s first 2025 deer season opened on Aug. 29 at noon and runs through Jan. 4, 2026. For many hunters the “real deer season” is the gun/rifle season which runs from Nov. 7 Nov. 23.
Search Shifts Focus for Missing Spirit Lake Woman
FORT TOTTEN, N.D. — The extensive search for 20-year-old Danica “Tynee” White has ended in tragedy with the discovery of her remains. According to an official press release from the Spirit Lake Tribe posted on their Facebook community page, she “was discovered and recovered from the waters shortly before 3 p.m. on Nov. 6.”

Four generations of Minnesota outdoorsmen visit Lake Region twice each year

They all love to fish Devils Lake in the summertime staying at a campground in Grahams Island State Park. Shown here they also come each fall to get their limit of Canada goose, speckled belly geese, pheasants, ducks like widgons, red heads, mallards and gadwells. Although Bob and Garrett Mueller (Rochester, MN) had to leave early to get back to work, bringing their birds home with them, Charlie Lindberg (Ramsey, MN), Ethan Lindberg (Ramsey, MN), Nick Lindberg (Ham Lake, MN), Chuck Lindberg (Coon Rapids, MN) and Chris Lindberg (Andover, MN) stayed to pose for the Devils Lake Journal to photograph them and their birds. The hunters said they always enjoy their time in the Lake Region and are grateful for all the landowners who allow them to hunt on their land. They will be back next year fishing in the summer and hunting in the fall with their friend, Ron.
Local and state resources step in to help neighbors in need
On Wednesday, Oct. 29, Our Saviors Lutheran Church held a Trick-Or-Treat event where kids from their Sunday School program went door-to-door to ask for food items to donate to the Hope Center, which has its own food drive tentatively scheduled for mid-November. St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church also has an ongoing food drive.
Opinion: Not proud
So, now that we are not seeing illegal immigrants returned to their home country but hellhole third-world prisons, you must realize just how far we have fallen as a moral and principled leading nation in the world. Now that we have the politically motivated, because it is not really about crime, militarization of cities governed by Democrats, are you proud of your country?
