There will be a special election held to amend the Home Rule Charter of the City of Devils Lake to enable the City Commission to enact an additional 0.50% sales tax. The special election will be held on July 22, 2025 at the Memorial Building (508, 4th Ave NE, Devils Lake, ND 58301). Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
PROPOSAL TO AMEND THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF DEVILS LAKE:
SHALL THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF DEVILS LAKE BE AMENDED TO EMPOWER THE CITY COMMISSION TO APPROVE AN ADDITIONAL .50% SALES TAX TO ASSIST IN FUNDING PUBLIC SAFETY OPERATIONS, PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND ANY FINANCING ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH INVESTMENTS, INFRASTRUCTURE AND ITS FINANCING, AND UTILITY BILL SUBSIDIZATION.
