In the final game of Friday’s action, No. 4 Thompson (10-2) upset No. 2 Valley City (8-2) in the Devils Lake Youth Activities Shootout, 66-56.
The Tommies, a region foe of Devils Lake, trailed 14-9 after the first quarter and 32-31 at halftime. They outscored the defending state champion 35-24 in the second half.
Addy Sage led Thompson with 29 points. Kya Hurst added 14.
The Hi-Liners got 18 poins from Skye Nielson, 14 from Dacota Potratz and 12 from Katie Burchill.
