Louis Schwartzenberger went to be with Jesus on Jan. 11, 2023, at Community Hospice Center in Vancouver, WA. The nurses and staff there said he was a ray of sunshine and that they loved his big smile. Louis was born on June 21, 1941, in Grand Forks, ND, and grew up in Devils Lake, ND.
He was a barber for over 60 years and raised Morgan horses for 20 years. Louis was preceded in death by his parents Valentine and Margaret Schwartzenberger and his brothers William and Richard.
He is survived by Mary, his wife of 47 years, his daughter Kim, brother Ronald, sisters Mildred Votendahl and Elaine Jackson, nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Leslie and Eugene Sconduto.
Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery at 3 p.m. on February 23, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Bible Church in Vancouver, WA.
