Rebecca Dionne, daughter of Robert “Bob” and Caroline (Kraulik) Bergley was born on January 31, 1958, in Devils Lake ND where she would live and work her entire life. Becky attended Sweetwater Elementary school and graduated with her brother Bobby, from Devils Lake Central High School with the class of 1976. She continued her education at Lake Region Junior College.

Becky was at one time married to Joe Bachmeier and they were the proud parents of a daughter Tara. Becky loved children. She started as a childcare provider at the Memorial Day Care Center and in the early 1980’s she opened her own in-home Day Care Center. She was a “Mom” to hundreds of children, which sometimes included two generations through the years. Unfortunately failing health forced her to retire in 2019 but she treasured “her kids” as her own.

Becky was very athletic. She played basketball in high school and was part of many Park Board sports including softball and volleyball for many years. She served as a referee for volleyball and coached and kept books for her men’s softball team. Her passion for many, many years was bowling. She was a part of the Lake Region Bowling Association until the bowling alley in Devils Lake closed. She served as the Lake Region Bowling Association secretary, was head of the Youth Bowling Association and encouraged and supported the youth of the community to enjoy the comradery of bowling. Becky was honored for Meritorious Service in 2012 from the North Dakota Bowling Hall of Fame and in 2013 from the Lake Region United States Bowling Conference Hall of Fame.

When Becky wasn’t working, playing sports, or watching sports, she enjoyed playing computer games and going to the Casino with friends. Her family meant the world to her, and she just recently enjoyed a family trip to Medora. Being with grandchildren or talking to them on the phone was always a treasured moment, put a smile on her face and so much joy in her heart. Becky cared for others with a very generous heart, caring spirit, helping others in need whenever she could.

Becky’s loving family include her daughter Tara and husband Eric Rogness, Devils Lake; grandchildren Alexander Rogness, Pahrump, Nevada and Abigail Rogness, Bismarck ND; special cousin Sandra (Tom) Maloney; special friends JoAnn Harveland and Lena Jaeger.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Caroline and her brother Bobby.

Urn Bearers will be Alex and Abby and honorary bearers are the members of Becky’s men’s softball team.
