Terry Armstrong, 66, of Devils Lake, ND, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 8, 2023.

Terry was born in Rolette, ND on May 7, 1957 to Richard and Ethel (Bush) Armstrong. He attended and graduated from Rolette high school with the class of 1975. He then went on to attend college at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND, and received a degree in auto mechanics. He started his employment after college working road construction when he met his wife, Debbie.

On June 27, 1980, he married Debbie Armstrong (Davis) and moved to Devils Lake, ND. He worked in the auto mechanic field and then went on to work for the City of Devils Lake for 30 years. They had four children, Heather, Matthew, Courtney and Tanner. Terry also enjoyed doing automotive work part time with Ron Johnson and Cam Sigette for numerous years.

He had a passion for farming and helped Danny and Darla Armstrong and Kenny and Lee Dahl for many years.

Terry was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time he enjoyed going fishing and hunting and spending time with his family. His 5 granddaughters always brought a smile to his face and he loved to spoil them.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie; his daughters Heather (Lee) Dahl of Lakota, ND and Courtney (Chris) Stroschein of Minot, ND; his sons Matthew (Kalissa Syverson) Armstrong of Lakota, ND and Tanner (Ashtyn) Armstrong of Brocket, ND; 5 granddaughters Emily, Madelyn, Lydia, and Natalie Dahl and Kinsley Armstrong; brothers Roger (IraMae) Armstrong of Fargo, ND, Curt Armstrong (Wisconsin), Gordon (Becky) Armstrong of Chakio, MN, and Randy (Pam) Armstrong of Wahpeton, ND; mother-in-law Claire Davis of Devils Lake, ND; in-laws Bob and Cindy Davis and Terry and Diane Frelich of Devils Lake, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by both his parents; father-in-law Jim Davis; two brothers, Rusty and Tim Armstrong; and grandson Cameron Dahl.

Mass of Christian burial for Terry will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Matthew Kraemer will celebrate the Mass and burial will be at Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 5:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:00 p.m.
