The LRSC Photo Club got to display their photography skills at the Lake Region Arts Center for the community to see. The club’s members had black and white photos taken at volleyball games, basketball games, and the city of Devils Lake. Their photos will be up till this Saturday, May 4.

Carla Moros, a sophomore from Spain, took some photos of the volleyball games and Devils Lake. She got up early in the morning to take her photos. “I wanted to show Devils Lake and the different spaces in the morning,” she said. She added she wanted to “show how much of a community we are in this really small town and show the beauty of it.”

Marlee Bittner, a sophomore, got turned on to photography in high school because of how “stress relieving” it was. She said she loves it because of how “fun and relaxing” it is. “I wanted to get across that I just enjoy being able to get the images of sports,” she said. “It was fun to see how I can get the different motions of things.”

Freshman Jazmin Finken wound up taking pictures at a baseball game while Bittner went to the bathroom. She said she hopes her photos give “something that the baseball players could have and look back on.” She added that photography is “something that everyone can bond over” and “being able to share your photos with people brings happiness.”

Scott Dunbar, the advisor for the club, was ecstatic that members of the club got to showcase their photos. “I’m very proud of their accomplishments,” he said. “Sometimes they don’t think they have talent but they do have talent.”
