Picture, if you will, ancient Biblical times where a revered Rabbi sits teaching, sharing wisdom and insights. Gathered around him are his pupils, eager to hang on every word the wise and loving teacher has to impart.

There is laughter and interaction as teacher and students experience a learning style together that emphasizes what the learner already knows and expands their appreciation of ancient wisdom and texts in that light.

Does that sound like any classroom you’ve ever experienced?

If you are intrigued by this scene, you have an opportunity to experience something similar on Monday, Oct. 23 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 601 6th St. NE, with Noah and Holly Ullmann between 2 and 4 p.m.

The Ullmanns are “teachers of God’s word. Together we travel the world, following the Spirit’s lead, and immersing in different communities that are actively seeking the Lord.” They have been blessed to teach across America, Europe and Africa.

Their studies focus on illuminating the original Biblical Hebrew of the scriptures and exploring its real-life application.

Everyone interested is welcome to join us at St. Olaf for this unique and interesting experience of education. There is no charge for this event, but a free-will offering will be taken to cover Noah and Holly’s travel expenses and to share in their mission.
