Ramsey County 4-H held their annual Family Fun Night on August 13, 2023. Family Fun Night includes wrap up from the previous year along with welcoming possible new members for the upcoming year. The evening kicked off with supper which included a visit from the local ice cream truck. Recognition and awards were then handed out for the 2022-23 4-H year.

Project area medal awards: Clothing Revue – Ty Volk; Clothing & Textiles – Samantha Broyles; Creative Arts – Savanna Lebrun; Demonstration Sr – Lauren Stiven; Demonstration, Jr – Brayden Berg; Environment – Max Volk; Food & Nutrition – Landry Exner; Food Science – Lauren Stiven; Garden & Horticulture – Hayden Gehrtz; Goats – Mathea Nelson; Llama – Charly Black; Outdoor Skills – Grant Quam; Pet – Talia Laite; Public Speaking – Ty Volk & Max Volk; Shooting Sports – Lauren Stiven; Technology – Max Volk; Visual Arts – Ty Volk; Wood Science – Liam Nelson.

Member year pins were awarded to those completing 1 through 10 years of membership. 4-H membership begins when members are 8 years of age by September 1 of the current 4-H year. Ramsey County 4-H beanies were awarded to all cloverbuds. Cloverbuds in 4-H are members that are ages 5-7 as of September 1 of the beginning of the 4-H year.
A highlight of recognition is the scholarship portion of the evening. Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors that have completed 5-11 years of membership. A monetary scholarship is based on years of completion. This year, scholarships were awarded to Rochelle Jacobson, Cordell Walters and Casia Steinhaus.
The evening wrapped up with everyone enjoying time with their fellow county 4-H members at the Mike Dosch Memorial Swimming Pool in Devils Lake.
