On Thursday, April 9, a special event at UND will feature a distinguished panel discussion, followed by a luncheon and a keynote presentation by UND graduates Monique Lamoureux-Morando and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson — authors, keynote speakers, recipients of the Teddy Roosevelt Award (North Dakota’s highest civilian award) and former Olympic gold medalists in women’s ice hockey.
The BeBold UND Women in Leadership Summit is designed to provide thought-provoking discussion regarding women in leadership, and inspire students and other listeners to be bold and become fearless, determined leaders.
The Nistler College of Business and Public Administration is proudly hosting the event. The summit is invitation-based through student nominations by Nistler College faculty and staff, but media personnel are welcome to attend.
Panelists will include: Holly Corbin, Senior Human Resource Specialist, Minnesota Twins Baseball Annie Chipman Stockl, Vice President for Marketing, Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club Mia Treuer, Sports Attorney and Counsel, On Location – a premier sports and entertainment company, with experience managing events such as the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, and more.
The summit expanded from the Hultberg Lectureship Series, which was established 33 years ago with a gift through the UND Foundation by Clara E. Anderson (Hultberg) in memory of her parents, Hans and Suzanne Hultberg. Clara was a 1928 UND graduate, with an interest in stimulating challenges and opportunities for students in business.
UND Alumna Mary Fischer, director of sponsorships for a Fortune 5 company and the moderator for the summit’s panel discussion, was inspired to develop an experience to empower young professionals through education and support. In 2020, this vision began to come to life with the establishment of the BeBold UND Women in Leadership Summit.
