Jesse Schuh is proud to announce the opening of The Till House Saloon and Grill in downtown Lakota.

The long-time Lakota resident and 2010 graduate from Lakota High School has had a varied and interesting life leading to opening his own bar and grill on Friday, Sept. 8.

He serves with his older brother, Josh, on the Lakota Fire Department and works cattle with his dad on the family farm, two miles south of Lakota. He’s worked at John Deere in Michigan and for the city of Lakota, but now he’s using his college education at culinary school to revive a main street business in his home town: The Till House Saloon & Grill.

He explained the name “Till House” as simply referring to a “Man Cave” kind-of shack they used to hang out in and enjoy adult beverages where they stored an old restaurant till – a massive metal relic from days gone by that now graces the bar of Till House.

He’s developed a full menu that includes starters like mozzarella sticks and breaded cauliflower, wings both traditional and boneless with either five different sauces or five different dry rubs, and six different kinds of burgers with fries, three full-size salads and three kinds of wraps available, too.

Baskets feature chicken strips, popcorn chicken, battered shrimp or fish and fries for grown-ups and for kids the baskets feature mini corndogs, grilled chicken strips, grilled cheese or popcorn chicken. Children are welcome in the Till House until 9 p.m. The Till house is open Mondays – Fridays 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., Saturdays 12 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Sundays 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday and Saturdays between 5 and 9 p.m. they have BBQ platters with your choice of brisket, BBQ ribs or smoked sausage – two meat or three meat platters – and steaks: Ribeye or NY strip – all selections come with 2 sides and garlic toast or cornbread. Individual item prices range from $6 (for kids’ baskets) to $30 (for ribeye steak).
