The Hunting Gang comes to Devils Lake twice a year, every year, and they have been doing this for over a decade. In the summer, they fish. In the fall, they hunt. The top photo was taken Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at Lang’s “hunting” cabin in Ackerman’s Acres east of Devils Lake.
Last year, it was a very different picture when Devils Lake resident Ron Lang’s Hunting Gang posed for their annual photo for the Devils Lake Journal, because the region was getting many inches of new, wet, heavy snow. That photo was taken on Oct. 26, 2023.
For the most part, it is the same outdoor enthusiasts each year, three generations of them have been coming to Devils Lake for decades for the excellent fishing and hunting they have found here in their friend’s home area. This year they added to their numbers a couple of young hunters to carry on the tradition – Nicole from Elk River, MN and Maci from Andover, MN. What a fun week they have here together with their dads, uncles and grandpas!
