National 4-H Week is celebrated nationwide the first full week of October.

This year’s theme for 4-H Week is “Beyond Ready: Building a Ready Generation in a World of Change.”

From October 6-12, 2024, Ramsey County 4-H will celebrate in numerous ways.

Sunday will kick off 4-H week in Ramsey County with a pancake breakfast. 4-H members will be eager to serve pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit, and beverages to the community. The breakfast will take place at the KC Hall in Devils Lake and will run from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from any 4-H member, at the NDSU Extension Office in Ramsey County located on the second floor of the Ramsey County Courthouse, or at the door the day of the event.

Community members can get involved by signing up for 4-H themed baskets at the pancake breakfast and also at the Extension Office during the week.

4-H members will be in the spirit on Wednesday for “Wear Green Wednesday.” 4-H members will be displaying their spirit by wearing a shirt with the 4-H logo or something green. They will also be thanking sponsors with visits and presenting a 4-H window clings to businesses. Be sure to check out 4-H trivia on the NDSU Extension Ramsey County Facebook page. Every day during 4-H week there will be a new question and a chance to win 4-H themed prizes.

“Hands to Larger service” is a part the 4-H pledge. During 4-H week, Ramsey County 4-H members will be delivering “care kits” to the local homeless shelter. These care kits consist of various hygiene items, food items, a wash cloth, socks and a rain poncho. 4-H members are also gathering items for baby care kits that will be given to foster care through the local social services.

Wrapping up the week of celebrating will include 4-H families attending a movie.
