I call it “Camping 101” but it involved bunch of my friends from Minot – 124 miles west of DL, Langdon – 72 miles north of DL and Grand Forks – 83 miles east of DL and DLJ writers Mojo (sports) and Andrew (news). Both had never been camping before. We fed them burgers, hot dogs, s’mores and played games like Corn Hole (bean bag toss) and Norwegian golf. We had a huge bonfire, what we call a “BOB fire” visited, laughing and telling stories and then before dark Mojo, Andrew and I (Louise) went back to town to sleep in our own beds, the others stayed in their campers at the campground. Camping 201 will involve a tent, sleeping bags and more food & games & conversation – down the road a piece. So stay tuned! (photo by Louise Oleson, DLJ editor)
