Here Goss crosses the “finish line” at the Edwards Building in Camp Grafton ahead of all other runners at 8:58 a.m.
First is certainly not the worst! 19-year-old Tyler Goss, a student from Concordia College in Moorhead zoomed past all the competition to come in first place at the Devils Run 14k Saturday morning.
Goss is young but he has been a long-time runner. He competes in cross country and track in college. He competed in cross country while attending Devils Lake High School. He also played basketball. He graduated in 2023.
“I saw it in the paper and I was like ‘might as well do that again,’” Goss said for his reason to participate in the run.
This was his second time in the run having competed four years ago. He came in third place.
“It’s good. It’s awesome. A lot of people out there which was unexpected,” he said. “I’m happy that it’s over. It was fun though.”
Seventy two runners set off at 7:30 a.m. June 1 in the 14K Fallen Soldier Memorial Run, unofficially Goss clocked in at the finish line at 8:58 a.m. far ahead of the next runners.
