At the March 12 Devils Lake Kiwanis club meeting members were treated to a “sneak peek” visit to Dockside Entertainment led by Kale Stromme who serves on the Park Board and is a Kiwanis member. (all photos by Louise Oleson)
Workers were busy putting in the six bowling lanes for the string bowling alley at Dockside, located at the intersection of US Highway 2 and ND Highway 20 in the former Leevers Foods South building.
These two photos show some of the equipment for the indoor playground inside Dockside, a perfect place to bring the littles on a cold North Dakota day to blow off some steam.
Here Kale Stromme talks about all the games you can access in one of the five Virtual Reality Screen rooms at the heart of Dockside Entertainment. Adults-, teens- and children-friendly games will be available; from golf to baseball to fun and adventure games for kids of all ages.
Where the crowd is standing here, will be the pickleball courts – a space that could perhaps be used for other games like volleyball or badminton, too. Around it all will be a walking path for anyone who needs space to walk or jog safely, even when there is ice and snow on the ground outside.
The entrance to Dockside Entertainment will be on the south side of the building, shown here. Inside you will be met by the information desk to the left and on the right are the arcade games, along the wall, and straight ahead will be the VR rooms and bowling lanes. The Devils Lake Park Board eventually plans to develop outdoor space, too, nearby for other kinds of games that can be played outside during the warmer months of the year.
