It’s soon time for the Encore 301’s closeup Mr. DeMille!

Devils Lake has been hungry for a movie theater and with help from members from all over the community, it’s becoming a reality. Peter Foss, the project manager, has been hard at work bringing back “Tinseltown” and the prospective opening of the movie theater looks to be end of November.

The Journal visited with Foss to see how progress is coming along and it looks like when the theater does open, it will bring much-needed escapism that the town craves. While it was an AMC theater before, the Encore 301 has its own identity. With 3 screens and comfortable chairs already installed, all they need are the movies. In an update the Journal did of the theater in October, Foss said the latest new releases will be shown.

Concessions will be the staples of the moviegoing experience. You’ll be able to order popcorn, candy, and fountain drinks. The theater plans to expand the menu down the line.

The seats that have been installed in all three movie theaters, as you can see in the picture, aren’t going to destroy your back. You’ll be able to sit back and have a comfy movie-watching experience. There are drink holders to hold beverages so no need to put them on the ground next to your feet and worry about making a mess by accident.

While prices are TBD, as of now, they will have regular prices, matinee prices, and discounts for children, seniors, and the military. It’s getting close! We’ll let you know of the exact opening date of 301 Encore, just as soon as we know!
