Monster motors and winged warriors thrill at Devils Lake Speedway

The Devils Lake Speedway hosted the Northern Outlaws Sprints, NLRA Late Models, Wissota Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks on Saturday, July 22.

There were 17 Midwest Modifieds that filled out the Wissota division. Eric Haugland [32] made it a sweep by pulling from fifth in his heat to the checkered flag and got a front row seat in the feature. Haugland had a huge night, clocking 77-79 plus mph on the high banked, 1/3 mile track. In Victory Lane, Haugland expressed his sincere gratitude for his strong sponsors, family, and friends.

The win in heat one went to Jeremy Lizakowski [96],Grafton. Eric Haugland [32], Lakota, won heat two and Lance Schill [17], Langdon, won heat three.

In the Pure Stocks, Bradon Miller [5], Lakota, Dan Arends [43] and Joe Armstrong [1J] both from Crary, all had strong showings. Miller found himself in the back of the field charging for a win but Armstrong held him back. Colten Laber [850] would make Victory Lane, Armstrong second, Miller third and Arends fourth in the feature.

In the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association Wade Nygaard [9N], Grand Forks, picked up his 213th career victory, battling a strong final five laps with Casey Mack [8], East Grand Forks, from fourth to the checkered in the 25 lap finale.

In the NLRA Late Models, Dustin Strand [71] dusted the field with the heat one win. Robert Hellebust [9H], Minot, won heat two. Heat three went to Ricky Weiss [7], Headingly, MB and heat four went to David Smith [06], Edmonton,CA.

The feature had Weiss in Victory Lane with Strand coming in second.

On Saturday night, July 29th, the Wissota A-Mods complete their six race point series. Hot laps start at 6:30 and racetime begins at 7p.m.
