Two Devils Lake girls high school fastpitch players enjoyed the end of a summer season by winning the ND State 16U Fastpitch Tournament in Bismarck, ND July 17-19, 2015.

Hanna Pesek and Alysha Moser, both from Devils Lake, played with the Grand Forks Express over the summer when Devils Lake was not able to get enough players to commit to assemble a team.

Hanna Pesek, senior at DLHS, is one of Devils Lake’s main pitchers. She saw quite a bit of action in the outfield and a much deserved break pitching a few less innings for the Grand Forks Express. Alysha Moser, junior at DLHS, listed as a utility player and playing mostly outfield for Devils Lake, was a mainstay in the infield for Grand Forks Express, playing 2nd base, 3rd base and catcher.

The GF Express consistently practiced Tuesday and Thursday evenings and played games on those nights as well and some weekend tournaments.

The Express competed in five tournaments over the summer in Grand Forks, Moorhead, MN, Bemidji, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, and Bismarck.

They played Grafton, Green Bush Middle River and the Express 18U team as exhibition games to ready themselves for tournament play. The GF Express 16U team went undefeated at the State Tournament beating the FM Blaze 16U in the Championship. Congratulations to Hanna Pesek and Alysha Moser and the GF Express 16U Team State Championship.
