Raiders pick up first-round triumph

The Lakota-Edmore volleyball team did exactly what it had to Monday evening against Rollete-Wolford. With a first-round win in the Region 4 tournament, the Raiders move on to the semifinals Tuesday.

Lakota-Edmore won by scores of 25-18-25-21, 23-25 and 25-18.

The Raiders used a combination of good passing, efficent serving and a strong game at the net to cruise to victory.

Fallyn Freije led the squad with 32 kills, six aces, two blocks and 10 digs.

Taylor Anderson finished with four aces, 19 digs, 29 assists and one kill. Kallie Wittenhagen had four kills. Miranda Martinson added four kills, one ace, one block and six assists.

Cassandra Twedt had three kills, three blocks and three assists. Breanne Schmidt had two kills while Katie Wall had one. Caitlyn Miller finished with 11 digs.

Lakota-Edmore meets North Star at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals.
