After a long time away, the Lake Region State College volleyball team hit its home court Wednesday evening to take on the University of Jamestown junior varsity.

It was a true battle as the teams fought back-and-forth all evening long. In the end, however, it was the Jimmies that walked away with the win in four intense sets. The University of Jamestown won by scores of 25-22, 25-22, 21-25 and 25-19.

The first two sets were extremely close early on before the Jimmies pulled away late.

Lake Region State College led almost the entire way in the third set as Abbey Braaten, Meghan Jorgenson and Madison Taylor were firing on all cylinders at the net for the Royals.

After earning a 25-21 win in the third set, the home team fell just short at 25-19 in the fourt set.

Lake Region State College is about to hit the final stretch of its regular season schedule. During the next two weeks, the Royals will continue to play the role of road warriors.

On Friday, the team travels to Minneapolis, Minn., for a road tournament. Next Wednesday, the Royals play at NDSCS.
