Firebirds fall to 0-12 after 83-69 loss to Spartans

FARGO, N.D. — The first win of the season continues to prove elusive for Devils Lake High School as Fargo North defeated the Firebirds 83-69 at the Spartandome in Fargo.

Nick Schultz scored 27 points and led three Spartans in double figures as Fargo North handed Devils Lake its 12th loss of the season. The Firebirds are 0-10 in Eastern Dakota Conference play.

Brady Bergeron added 12 points and Brady Syverson chipped in with 11 points of his own for the Spartans, who improved to 7-3 in the EDC and 8-4 on the year with the win.

Jordan Snyder scored 22 points to pace Devils Lake, which got 18 points from Nate Mertens, who also logged four assists and four steals for the Firebirds.

Devils Lake is idle until Feb. 5 when the Firebirds travel to West Fargo.
