North Star outlasts Rolette-Wolford

ROLETTE, North Dakota — North Star continued its strong early-season play, but the Bearcats were tested in a big way before securing a victory over Rolette-Wolford on Tuesday.

North Star won 23-25, 25-7, 23-25, 25-9, 15-8.

“The scores tell an interesting story about this five-set match,” North Star Lauren Ressler said. “We struggled with their serves in sets one and three. We dug ourselves into a hole and we couldn’t dig out of it before they reached 25 points.”

But, while Ressler’s Bearcats might have struggled in two of the five sets, they dominated the other three sets and came away with the victory to improve to 7-2 overall on the season.

“I’m glad to see the girls have the confidence and the endurance to win,” Ressler added.

Kelsey Teubner led the way for North Star with 17 kills in the match, while teammates Michelle Holien and Caitlin Holien added nine and six kills, respectively, for North Star.

Teubner also had a team-high five aces in the contest.
