RUGBY, N.D. — A strong start and a furious finish allowed North Star to move to 4-2 on the season with a 3-2 win over Rugby on Tuesday.

The Bearcats won the first set 25-15, but the Panthers rallied to win the next two sets to go ahead in the match. North Star won the final two, including a comfortable 15-7 win in the finale to take the win.

“Serving was a weakness,” North Star coach Lauren Ressler said. “We missed serves at crucial times.”

Ressler said she also saw some bright spots from her team against the Panthers.

“I’m seeing a lot of strengths,” she said, “especially in our digging. We’re really going after the ball well. We just need to put up a stronger block.”
