Airline numbers set 10 yr. record

By Mike Bellmore - Journal Features Editor

July airline boardings set a 10-year record in North Dakota, according to figures released by the State's Aeronautics Commission.

And Devils Lake was right in the middle of the action, going from 320 in July of last year to 406 last month.

Dickinson, Jamestown and Williston showed some small decreases.

Fargo showed one of the most dramatic increases, going from 32,385 in July of last year to 36,072 last month.

A total of 71,815 passengers flew in North Dakota, up just over nine percent from last year.

A strong factor in the increase is 62 daily departures from the states eight commercial airports  to a great variety of destinations for business and vacation.
