Warwick students learn with show and tell through IVN

Staff reports
Students are shown duplicating the hand actions of the story teller.

The Warwick kindergarten students participated in an Interactive Television program just before the Christmas break. Janna Jensen, Technology Director at the school was contacted by Kari Sauer of the Edutech Education Technology Services about a Gingerbread Boy Holiday Program being offered throughout the state. Jensen quickly contacted the pre-k through second grade staff and it was set up in the Warwick school's IVN room. The story was narrated and performed using shadow puppets on the big TV in the first half and in the second half the students made their own puppets interacting via the television for the instructions. This also included a learning activity about the ingredients that go into gingerbread.
