BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck man involved in a standoff with law enforcement eventually surrendered without incident, but not before authorities closed roads and evacuated area residents.

The 60-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday afternoon on a warrant related to a drug case.

Authorities say the standoff began when deputies went to the man's mobile home to serve warrants Thursday afternoon and the man allegedly made threatening statements about firearms and reached for an object officers thought could be a gun.

Officers from several law enforcement agencies and a local SWAT team then surrounded the home, and the man surrendered. The incident lasted about two hours.
