Man pleads guilty to assault
Kenneth B. Grady, 19, of Parshall, ND, pleaded guilty on Jan. 25, 2011 to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.
On July 13, 2010, Grady and a female companion left a residence near New Town in a motor vehicle, which Grady was driving. When the two began to argue, the female asked to leave the vehicle and she began walking.
Grady got the female back into the vehicle, and they began driving again.
When the female asked to be let out of the vehicle later, Grady refused.
During the travel, Grady assaulted the female by striking her with his hand and with the shoes on his feet. The assault caused bodily injury to the female, which required medical attention.
The charge of assault with a dangerous weapon carries a statutory maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
Sentencing for Grady has been scheduled for April 25, 2011, in United States District Court in Minot.
