ND woman sentenced for nail file attack

Alicia M. Hosie, 20, of Garrison, ND, was sentenced January 21, 2011 on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Hosie pleaded guilty to the charge on November 8, 2010.

Hosie was sentenced to two years of probation, including six months of home confinement with electronic monitoring. She was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim’s Fund and $892.84 in restitution.

On March 9, 2010, Hosie and an unidentified victim were driving around the area of White Shield, ND, consuming alcoholic beverages, when they began to have a dispute.

After the victim exited the vehicle, Hosie also got out and slashed the victim several times in the face with a nail file. The victim’s injuries required medical attention.
