ND town, couple at odds after dog attack in home
DES LACS, N.D. (AP) — City Council members in the northwest North Dakota town of Des Lacs are filing a complaint against a couple whose home was the scene of a dog attack, as authorities try to get another dog removed from the home.
A woman who was baby-sitting last November in the home of Jason and Anna Heppler was mauled by two dogs authorities have described as pit bulls but Anna Heppler has said were mixed breeds.
Lori Amsden survived the attack but is still recovering.
The dogs were euthanized, and the Minot Daily News reports that city officials now want the Hepplers to remove a third dog from their home.
Anna Heppler says the dog is a service animal for her daughter, and she's threatening to sue the city.
