COOPERSTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Authorities investigating the killing of a North Dakota State University researcher in Cooperstown are seeking the public's help.

The Griggs County Sheriff's Office is asking for information on any sightings of a maroon 1995 GMC Safari van belonging to the suspect in the case. Authorities say it was the last place anyone saw Kurt Johnson after he left a bar on New Year's Eve. They have it in impound.

Law enforcement says Johnson's decapitated head was found in the home of Daniel Wacht. The rest of the 54-year-old man's body has not been found and authorities said earlier this week they had suspended the search for the remains to focus on building their case against Wacht.

The 30-year-old Wacht is being held without bail in Jamestown on a murder charge.
